Stand Alone Installation

  1. Unzip the downloaded zip file to your machine.

  2. Copy the folder to your Cinema 4D/plugins folder.

  3. In the folder delete every version except the one for your version of Cinema 4D or BodyPaint.

    • For example, on Windows, if you have R19 then keep the 4dpublish_r19.cdl64 file and delete 4dpublish_r17.cdl64 and 4dpublish_r18.cdl64.

    • For example, on OSX, if you have R19 then keep the 4dpublish_r19.dylib file and delete 4dpublish_r17.dylib and 4dpublish_r18.dylib.

  4. Start Cinema 4D

  5. The Registration Dialog will appear and you will need to enter in your 4D Publish licence key under the Registration section in the dialog.

  6. Next we need to install the layouts. Copy everything from the 'layouts' folder to either of the following locations

    • Your Cinema 4D/library/layout folder.

    • Open Cinema 4D, Open the Preferences, Press the 'Open Preferences Folder' then place the layouts in the library/layout folder.

  7. Restart Cinema 4D

  8. There will now be a 4D Publish menu at the top of Cinema 4D.

  9. Choose Show Help from the menu to find out more.


Licence Server Installation

  1. Unzip the downloaded zip file to your machine.

  2. Copy this folder to your Cinema 4D/plugins folder.

  3. In the folder delete every version except the one for your version of Cinema 4D or BodyPaint.

    • For example, on Windows, if you have R19 then keep the 4dpublish_r19.cdl64 file and delete 4dpublish_r17.cdl64 and 4dpublish_r18.cdl64.

    • For example, on OSX, if you have R19 then keep the 4dpublish_r19.dylib file and delete 4dpublish_r17.dylib and 4dpublish_r18.dylib.

  4. Open up your MAXON Licence Server.

  5. Click Add Serials

  6. Paste the floating licence (from your email) into the box that appears.

  7. Start up a copy of C4D that has 4D Publish installed.

  8. Next we need to install the layouts. Copy everything from the 'layout' folder to either of the following locations

    • Your Cinema 4D/library/layout folder.

    • Open Cinema 4D, Open the Preferences, Press the 'Open Preferences Folder' then place the layouts in the library/layout folder.

  9. Restart Cinema 4D

  10. There will now be a 4D Publish menu at the top of Cinema 4D.
